Internet Recharter: Streamline Your Annual Recharter Paperwork!

Rechartering
Renew the Charter for Packs, Troops, Teams, Crews and Ships online.

All units (packs, troops, teams, crews, posts) are required to renew their affiliation with Scouting each year.  Through the process, chartering (sponsoring) organizations, youth member and adult leader information is updated as well as registration fees and Boy's Life subscriptions are collected/paid.

A representative of each unit can now complete the paperwork for renewing a charter online. With Online Rechartering, you can indicate returning members, add new members, and update information for an individual or the chartered organization.

Each unit must select an adult to be its renewal processor and a single login/password is provided If you have questions or need help, contact your District Executive.

Please Note: Internet Advancement & Online Recharter will be unavailable every weekend for system maintenance from 9:00 pm CST on Saturday thru 6:00 pm CST on Sunday.

Troops may not use the 'promote' feature to add transitioning WEBELOS because the packs and troops do not have the same expiration date. Troops may, however, promote an 18 yr old youth to a leadership position within the same unit.

  • January units can go online after December 2.

  • March units can go online after February 2.

Fees for Rechartering Units

  • For rechartering units the Registration fees are $15.00 for each adult and youth per year.

  • The Boy's Life fees are $12.00 per subscription per year.

  • The Recharter Fee is $20.00 per unit.

Steps to Renewing a Charter Online

  1. Seventy-five to 90 days before your unit's expiration date, select a renewal processor.

  2. The renewal processor attends the district recharter training to receive training and the unit access code.

  3. Sixty to 45 days before the unit's expiration date, the renewal processor clicks the Recharter Now button and begins the process.

  4. When the online process is completed, the renewal processor prints the completed charter renewal application.

  5. The unit leader and the chartered organization representative sign the charter renewal application. Bring the application along with all appropriate fees to your district's charter turn-in meeting.

Why is Rechartering Important?

Chartered organizations, such as churches, service clubs and other community groups, are granted charter status by the Boy Scouts of America. This allows an organization to share the Scouting program for community outreach and to help the organization meet the needs of local youth. Read More
